On Wednesday 1st March, our Year 3 & 4 boys football team played in the Newbury District Indoor 5-a-side football Finals. To reach this stage, they had already competed - and won - their group stage competition so now they were facing all the other group winners.
It was a fantastic tournament with lots of brilliant teams. Birch Copse won most of their matches during the afternoon but we did lose one match against Hermitage Primary school. This meant the finals went down to the very last game which was very exciting. Fortunately, results went our way and we were announced as champions on goal difference.
It was a great tournament with lots of goals, energy and passion from all the teams involved and I was especially proud of the way our team showed great sportsmanship after every match whether they had won or lost.
